About This Site

Who's Behind GXPCPCompressor.com

An honest answer to a question you should always ask when reading any product review site: who wrote this, and why should I trust them?

My Background in PCP Airguns

My name is Roger Seher. I've been in the PCP airgun world long enough to have built some of the earliest online communities around it.

I founded the Marauder Air Rifle Forum — at its peak it was pulling over 3,500 visitors a day. If you've been in the PCP airgun hobby for more than a few years, there's a reasonable chance you found your way into a Benjamin Marauder through that community. We covered everything: tuning, filling, regulation adjustments, troubleshooting, modifications. It was a real resource built by real enthusiasts who were figuring things out in real time.

I also started and run AirTanksPlus.com — a source for HPA cylinders, fill accessories, and the gear that goes with serious PCP shooting. That business exists because I got tired of seeing people buy the wrong equipment, get bad advice, and end up frustrated. I stock what actually works for the way PCP shooters actually fill their guns.

All of that is to say: when I tell you a compressor is worth buying or a filter is necessary, it's not marketing. It's the same advice I'd give a customer standing at my counter.

Why I Built This Site Instead of Selling the Compressors

I looked at stocking GX Pump compressors. The math doesn't work for a small business.

Amazon's third-party sellers sell the CS4-I at prices I can't match when you factor in my overhead. They offer free shipping on a heavy item that would cost me real money to ship. And the third-party warranty programs on Amazon — where a buyer can buy an extended warranty at checkout and get a replacement unit shipped if something goes wrong — are genuinely better than what I can offer as a local dealer. Customers have told me this directly: they bought the compressor on Amazon specifically because of the warranty situation.

I can't compete with that. Rather than pretend I can or just stay silent, I built this site. I give you my professional knowledge — what to buy, what to watch for, how to use it right — and I send you to Amazon for the actual purchase. I earn a small affiliate commission on qualifying sales. That's the deal. It's transparent and it works for everyone.

My Approach to Recommendations

I only recommend what I'd actually use

The GX CS4-I is my champion pick because it's genuinely the best value in water-cooled compressors under $1,000. Not because it has the highest affiliate commission. If a cheaper unit was the right call for most buyers, I'd tell you.

Filters are non-negotiable

I will always tell you to run an inline filter. I have seen too many airguns damaged by moisture and oil from compressors. This is one of those things where skipping it to save $30 will cost you $300 or more down the road.

I say when I don't know

Some of the compressor models I haven't run personally. I'll note that. "Coming soon" means I'm working on it, not that I'm hiding a bad review.

The community matters

The 1,200-member GX PCP Air Compressor Owners Group on Facebook is a real resource. Real owners sharing real experience — service tips, replacement parts, common issues. I'm in there too.

Full Affiliate Disclosure

GXPCPCompressor.com participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you click an Amazon link on this site and make a qualifying purchase, I earn a small commission. The price you pay is the same whether you click through from here or go to Amazon directly.

I also link to AirTanksPlus.com for fill accessories and tanks. I own that business. Those links are not affiliate links in the Amazon sense — they go to my own store. I disclose this clearly on every page where those products appear.

Affiliate income is what keeps this site running without charging you for access or plastering it with display ads. I've tried to keep it honest. If you ever feel a recommendation doesn't hold up, I want to know.

Get in Touch

Spotted a deal on Amazon? Have a site suggestion or a fill question not covered here? Email is fine for that.

Need technical support on a GX Pump compressor?

Please don't email me for support on these units — I'm not GX Pump's service department, and I don't own one personally. The right place for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair questions is the GX PCP Air Compressor Owners Group on Facebook. Over 1,200 owners are in there — you'll get a real answer fast.
